About the College

Srinagar Women's college, Zakura was established in 2008. The college started functioning at Amar Singh College Campus on a makeshift arrangement and was shifted to its allotted campus at Batpora Zakura in 2019. The Institute lies in the foothills of the Zabarwan mountain and the banks of Dal Lake. The college is affiliated with the University of Kashmir and is recognized by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. In the September 2022 National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore awarded “B+" to this institution.

Till 2020, only 1 stream- Arts was being offered, in the year 2020 Science was introduced and in the year 2022 Commerce was also offered to the girl students of the valley. The college has adopted NEP-2020 policy and offers Major in Education, Political Science, Public Administration, Indian Music, Urdu Literature, Zoology, Botany, Physics, and Commerce.
