In the lap of the lofty Peer Panjal Range, breathtaking Budhal is a Tehsil of Rajouri District, Jammu & Kashmir. It is located 60km from the District Headquarters, Rajouri. It is bounded by Tehsil Darhal and Tehsil Thana Mandi towards the West, Tehsil Mahore of District Reasi towards the East, Rajouri towards the South, and District Shopian of Kashmir Division towards the North-East. Tehsil Budhal is one of the largest Tehsils of Rajouri district, with a moderate to cold climate. The average temperature ranges from 5℃ to 25℃.

Govt. Degree College Budhal was established in May 2008 under Prime Minister Reconstruction program with Arts stream in the midst of nature surrounded by lush green forests and supercilious peaks. At present the institution is running with both Arts and Science Streams offering various disciplines affiliated to University of Jammu. It has got UGC recognition under 2(f) and 12 (B) in the year 2011.

The College is situated in a picturesque valley which brings one closer to Nature. The College campus is stretched over one hundred seven (107) canals of land. The green carpet of paddy fields stretches miles and miles in the backyard the revitalizing mountain air, the calm and serenity, the densely clad hills and the snowcapped mountains in the southern and northern side enhance the beauty of the College campus. The whole college campus is well equipped with Wi-Fi and modern facilities for the students, such as spacious smart classrooms, science and computer laboratories, well-stocked automated Libraries, and a browsing center. 30KvaGenset provides power backup to the whole campus. Well-established and functional units of NCC, NSS, and Sports; facilitate the students in the co-curricular activities. The college also provides transport facilities to the students. The college also has Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme Facilitation Center for the beneficiaries (students). At present the total roll of the college is 250.

with International and National universities to bring in courses of high skill and learning like Data Science and Microbiology to enhance the skills of the students. Currently, Skill Course in Computer Concepts affiliated to the Central University of Jammu is being run after signing of a MOU with the Central University of Jammu.

Presently new construction projects like Science Block, 50-bedded Girl’s Hostel, and additional floor on Academic Block are going on. Projects like Boys ‘Hostel, Staff Quarters, Botanical Garden, Multi-purpose Hall etc. are being taken up with the Department of Higher Education
