Welcome to GDC Hyderpora

Situated on Indira Gandhi Airport Road at Bypass Crossing, Hyderpora near IQ Shopping Mall, Shri  Moti Lal  Saqi (Memorial), Government Degree College Hyderpora was established under the directions of Government Order No. 48-HE of 2019 dated 05-02-2019. The Institution operates from its pre-fabricated set up comprising of 2 classrooms, 4 laboratories, a library section, a browsing centre, a Principal chamber and an administrative section . The main complex is under construction

To create a work force with intellectual curiosity, scientific temper, creativity, spirit of service, and upto date capabilities across a range of disciplines including sciences, social sciences, arts, humanities, languages, as well as vocational subjects

To prepare students for more meaningful and satisfying lives and work roles and enable economic independence.

History

Advisor to Governor, K Skandan on March 04th, 2019 laid the foundation stone of  Government Degree College (GDC)  Hyderpora, Srinagar.  The Colllege started its humble beginning from , a makeshift arrangement at Primary School, Goripora. The college was renamed as Moti Lal Saqi  (Memorial) Government Degree College (GDC)  Hyderpora, Srinagar   after the eminent poet, writer and  folklorist Moti Lal Saqi on December 11, 2021.
