Established in 2019 ,  Govt Degree College Kralpora stands as hope of quality education in Tehsil Kralpora. Despite its relatively recent inception, the college has rapidly gained recognition for its dedication to academic excellence. Located in the remote hamlet of Dardsun in Tehsil Kralpora of District Kupwara, the college serves as an important educational hub for the local community.

Adhering to the guidelines outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the institution offers admission to the Four-Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) in three prominent subjects in Arts and Social Sciences: Political Science, Sociology, and Urdu. Additionally, to ensure a comprehensive academic experience, the college offers English as a minor subject alongside the aforementioned majors. Moreover, the college also offers Multidisciplinary (MD) subjects such as Public Administration and Disaster Management.

The college is structured into several departments, each contributing to the diverse academic landscape. The Departments of Political Science, Sociology, Urdu, and English collectively shape the educational journey of the students, fostering interdisciplinary learning and encouraging students to broaden their intellectual horizons.

In alignment with the evolving demands of the modern job market, the college provides admission to the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) skill course in Web Development to enhance students' employability and career prospects. Additional skill courses are also in the pipeline and will be offered subject to infrastructure support provided by the Department of Higher Education.

Despite several infrastructural challenges, Govt Degree College Kralpora prioritizes the comfort and convenience of its students. The college currently operates from three prefabricated huts and classrooms, which cater to various events and activities, including a spacious library with more than 5,000 books. This library provides students with a peaceful space for both academic exploration and personal growth.

To attract students to this newly established institution, facilities are being created to meet the expectations of students. The faculty at the college is keen on making this college a hub of higher education in the area.
