Welcome to GDC Vilgam, newly established College functioning in its own Campus. 

New Model Govt. Degree College Vilgam started its journey from 2019 under RUSA 2.0. The college is presently functioning in its own campus situated in the lush green Medows of Vilgam Amdarpora road. The College constitutes an Academic Cum Administrative Block, 60 bedded Boys’ Hostel, 40 Bedded Girls’ Hostel and a G+1 Multipurpose Hall. The college though in its nascent phase serves as an important educational hub for the students of vicinity.

 New Model Govt. Degree College Vilgam envisions to be seen as the vibrant multidisciplinary institution of higher learning in UT of J&K, and develop into a preferred destination for students desirous of pursuing higher education with a cutting edge. The College intends to be reflection of an institute boosting an integrity based academic excellence, inclusive and interactive culture for meaningful knowledge transfer among the generations. Adhering strictly to the NEP 2020, the college offers admissions in three Major Subjects Viz Political Science, Sociology and Kashmir. English is offered as a Minor while as Computer application and Environmental Sciences are offered as multi-disciplinary subjects.

The Academic section contains 6 Smart Classrooms, 4 Labs whereas Administrative Side contains Beautiful Sports Hall, Computer Lab and a spacious Library. This library provides students with a peaceful space for both academic exploration and personal growth. The college is expecting to introduce Science, BBA and BCA soon, thereby meet up the expectation of the students of this far-flung area.   

The college has a very bright future, given the promising talent of the local youth, wholehearted support from the civil society of the area, and the commitment of the Govt Higher Education Department to nurture this institution of higher learning.
