Basic information about College

Government Degree College Khansahib, One of the premier institutes of higher learning in district Budgam. As a make shift College it Started functioning at Bal-Ashram Building of the Social Welfare Department and was subsequently shifted to its present campus in 2017.

The College got Affiliation with University of Kashmir in January 2011. College was Recognized by UGC under 12 (b) and 12 (f) in April March 2011. During the previous five years, the college has seen multiple constructive changes that include the introduction of 17 subjects and degree program in B.Sc Medical as well as Non-Medical. The college has eight classrooms and all the classrooms are having projectors and smart boards installed besides recently purchased interactive Flat panel displays. Two classrooms have been equipped with digital podiums also. Construction of an auditorium, a washroom block, a canteen and a garage is also underway in the college. Besides, a prefabricated hut is also under construction in the college. The college has a vast sports field. The college has a roll of about eight hundred students which keeps increasing every year. The students have been provided with browsing rooms and a reading room, besides a very rich library.. The college has also been provided permanent faculty in most of the subjects taught in the college.
