Government Degree College Langate, situated in Langate Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, was established on June 13, 2019, under the authority of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The college's first principal was Prof. (Dr.) Neelofar Bhat. The college's foundation stone was laid by Secretary Cooperatives, Abdul Majeed Bhat, in the presence of former District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Mr. Anshul Garg.

The college campus is being developed over 51 Kanal land, covering an area of 9739 square meters for the building. The project is expected to be completed in two working seasons at an estimated cost of Rs 12.50 crore.

Since its inception, the college has made commendable progress in terms of student enrollment. Starting with a modest roll of 100 students in 2019, it has currently grown to accommodate 232 students.
