Welcome to Govt. College of Eng. & Tech Jammu

Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu was established by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir in 1994 with the approval of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to the University of Jammu. The Institute is also recognised under 12(B) and 2(f) of UGC act of 1956.

The college was established with the vision to provide valuable resources for industry and society through excellence in technical education and research.

GCET Jammu has become the first institution of UT of J&K to have all the five UG programs accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in the year 2023.

• The College offers PG Degree Courses (M.Tech) in three engineering departments viz Electronics & Communication, Computer Science & Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with an intake capacity of 18 students each from the session 2020 onwards.
• The college also offers UG Degree courses (B.Tech.) in five disciplines in Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical and Civil Engineering with an intake capacity of 60 students in each program. Besides this, the college also offers Lateral Entry Scheme for Diploma holders for admission to B.E. 3rd Semester with an intake of 10% of the sanctioned intake capacity, supernumerary to the approved intake in each discipline of Engineering from Session 2015 onwards.
• The college is recognized by University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) and 12(b) of the UGC Act, 1956.
• Aside from imparting education to the students of UTs of J&K and Ladakh, the Institute is also actively offering Consultancy Services to various Government/Semi Government agencies such as PMGSY, CPWD, PDD, MES, PWD, ERA, Central University, IRKON, Konkan Railways, JDA, Education deptt. etc.
• The Alumni of this Institution have excelled in various spheres and are positioned very well globally in a number of leading Government, Public Sector and Private Organizations at the UT and National level.
• GCET has entered into several Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with different organization/industries for academic and research collaboration. This has led to establishment of a robust Industry linkage, aiming to provide extensive exposure to the students of the UT through training and internship in various fields. This industry linkage not only enhances the quality of education but also provides opportunities for research and innovation.
• GCET has state of the art lab infrastructure, research facilities for the students/researchers in the field of engineering sciences.
