Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar, established in 1961, is one of the prestigious institution in Jammu and Kashmir. Known for its academic excellence and vibrant campus. The college being located on the foothills of Koh-i-Maran, offering a serene environment conducive to learning. The college operates as an autonomous institution affiliated with the University of Kashmir. It offers a blend of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs, primarily focusing on Science, Commerce, Management Studies and Computer Science. The college was founded with the vision of promoting education and fostering excellence in science and commerce streams. To ensure the harmonious growth and development of our society the college patronize  the underprivileged and downtrodden sections of our society by educating and helping  so that they contribute and participate in general human welfare. Presently with more than 3500 students on rolls, the college has grown into a hub of academic and co-curricular activities, recognized for its contributions to the higher education sector in the region. The college is considered as cornerstone of academic and cultural development in Jammu and Kashmir. By combining modern education with traditional values, it continues to inspire generations of students to achieve their full potential.  Recognized for consistently high academic results and achievements coupled with sports, cultural and extension activities the Alumni of the college have proven their mettle across diverse fields, including academics, public sector and entrepreneurship.  The college has been particularly instrumental in uplifting the socially and economically underprivileged people of the state in general and the people of Shah-re-Khas in particular. The student belong to diverse background. The college has received strong support and patronship from  government and community to realize its mission of academic excellence. The affiliating university on record have always played role of mentor and guide to this college in its academic journey. In 2011, the College was granted CPE status (College with Potential for Excellence), the only College in J & K State. In 2014, the college was granted Autonomous Status by UGC.  The Academic leap of College in terms of introducing new courses/programmes from 2018 to 2023  and implementing the National Education Policy 2020, marked a transformative phase for the college. Currently college is running 28 Programmes which includes 

15 -    UG Courses, 07-  PG Courses, 03-  IPG Courses, 01-  DYD ( Design Your Degree Program)

The college has recorded a pass percentage of around 80% in UG Programmes and more than 90% in PG Programmes over the years. The college has impressive student progression in diverse fields.
