Brief Profile of the College:

Govt. Degree College, Ghagwal affiliated to University of Jammu was established in the year 2019, by the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir with the aim to impart quality education to the students of Ghagwal and adjoining villages. College is providing value based learning that has relevance in the present scenario.

The College is offering subjects in Arts and Humanities, with five major subjects and total of seven subjects. The College is currently functioning in Govt. Girls High School, Ghagwal. As of now 40 kanals of State land has been allotted at Sangwali in Ghagwal for the construction of Govt. Degree College Ghagwal, so in the near future, our College will inaugurate its own building with a modern infrastructure, which will cater the needs of the community, especially the girl students who want to study locally in a College.

At present, the College is managed under the patronage of the Principal, four permanent faculty members, three non-teaching staff members, two Class-IV staff members and few academic arrangement teachers. The Teaching staff of the College, with an excellent background and experience, are dedicated in shaping the personality of the students so that they can compete at the National and International levels. Although, this is just the beginning, but we are confident that with the effective support of all the stakeholders, an exemplary history would be written by developing the Govt. Degree College, Ghagwal as an institution of excellence, not only in academics but also in extension activities.
