Brief Profile:
Government Degree College Rajpora was established in the year 2019 vide Govt. Order No. 48-HE of 2019 Dated: 05-02-2019. The college was operating from makeshift campus for several years but has shifted to new campus during the current year partially. The new campus has 5 Prefabricated structures for classrooms, a Reading Room, Administrative block, staff room, IQAC room, Examination cum admission room, washroom block and other allied facilities. The main college building situated at the centre of a spacious segment of 50 canals land is under construction. The college is imparting education to around 134 students at present. The College is affiliated to the University of Kashmir and offers courses in Arts stream with subjects Education, Political Science, Kashmiri Literature, Sociology and Urdu Literature in addition to Environment Science, English and Physical Education. There is a sanctioned post of the Principal, 6 sanctioned posts of Teaching faculty out of which four are presently filled with permanent faculty, one PTI and 5 Non-teaching staff. The College is recognized by the UGC under 2(F) and efforts are on to get it recognized under 12(B) and accredited by the NAAC. There are various student centric facilities like a rich Library, a Gym centre, separate washrooms for boys & girls, a Browsing Centre, a community Library, a Cooperative store and IT enabled Classrooms with interactive boards. There is an active and dynamic NSS Unit, which is registered with the University of Kashmir. There is internet facility in the college with 100 mbps Bandwidth that will be upgraded in the near future.
The permanent campus situated near sports Stadium Rajpora has all weather road connectivity. The surrounding area of the college is famous for Horticulture and some areas are famous for agriculture.
The college campus is situated on the bank of large nallah “Kani Aada”, which gives a scenic beauty to the campus. All efforts are being exerted by the administration to make the college a premier institution of higher education and learnning
