Welcome to Govt. Degree College, Chenani.
Government Degree College (GDC) Chenani was established in 2019 and is located 30 kilometres away from the district headquarter Udhampur. Currently, the college operates in a makeshift/temporary girl’s hostel building, which belongs to School Education Department .
       Initially, both Science and Arts streams were introduced in the college. However, following the rationalization of subjects, the college now offers majors only in Education, English, Geography, Political Science, and Mathematics.
      Despite the infrastructural challenges, the college has a robust student body, primarily from rural areas, making higher education accessible to these communities. The college currently has seven well-qualified permanent teachers and a librarian, ensuring a quality education for its students.
      Moreover, a new college building is under construction and is expected to be completed by the end of this year 2024.
