Welcome to GDC Mattan

Government Degree College Mattan, situated in Mattan Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, was established in 2019, under the authority of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The College campus is being developed over 26 Kanal (approx.) of land. Since its inception, the college has made commendable progress in terms of student enrolment. Starting with a modest roll of 21 students in 2019, it has currently grown to accommodate almost 300 students in all semesters. The college offers Bachelor’s degree programs with a focus on general courses. The available programs include Bcom, Bachelor of Arts as per the National Education Policy 2020. The subjects offered in these programs encompass a diverse range of fields such as Education, English, Environmental Science, Economics, Kashmiri, Commerce, Etc. Academic excellence is at the core of the college's mission, achieved through the dedicated guidance and mentorship provided by the highly qualified and experienced staff. The institution strives to unlock the reservoir of talent and potential within its students, acknowledging the importance of the current knowledge-based and competitive environment. To foster well-rounded development, the college encourages students to actively participate in various curricular and co-curricular activities, allowing them to communicate, interact, and express themselves freely. The college boasts a well-established library, housing numerous books, providing a valuable resource for students to enhance their knowledge and academic pursuits. Additionally, a computer lab has been set up to equip students with essential computer skills, fulfilling the demand for a browsing center on the campus. The college is continuously exploring opportunities to introduce more skilloriented courses in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020, aiming to prepare students for the demands of the evolving job market and industry needs. Since its establishment, the college has remained dedicated to meeting the expectations and aspirations of its various stakeholders.
