Sunderbani is a scenic town in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Before 1947, there was no place under the name of Sunderbani . At that time, Sunderbani area was known as Bhajwal Jagir. It is named as Sunderbani after an ancient spring (bowli) called Sunder Baan. In 1980, Sunderbani emerged as a new tehsil of district Rajouri. By the visionary and selfless efforts of local leadership, senior citizen council and other non-political organization, a Government Degree College was sanctioned at Sunderbani in 2011. Initially, the college started functioning in the building of Govt. Middle School, Sunderbani. In January 2023, the college was shifted to its own building at Tandapani on Rajouri-Poonch highway.
The new college building was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narinder Modi on 20 th of February 2024 through virtual mode. The new building has eight classrooms, four labs, conference room and a spacious library
